No shopping?
Tuesday, June 27, 2006
Well, as they say it, Hong Kong is a shopping haven.
Shopping for cheap stuff over here... The food here is not really as nice as I expected them to be. However, certain dishes are quite yummy as compared to our side. But I stil think Singapore has the best food in the world. Haha~~~

Sunday, June 18, 2006
Halo everyone! I'm in Hong Kong now!!! Very excited to be here, however, the sun rays are killers, more intense than that of Singapore. Hee, Lets's look at what we took these 2 days...
To start first, we had out very first lunch in Hong Kong--- sandwiches! Since the canteen auntie could not speak english or chinese at all, we have to listen carefully to her before we start to understand their system. Luckily the auntie taking orders could speak chinese, but not english. Lol, anyway, the canteen opposite our hall had this very odd smell, really odd, so guess we'll not be visiting it for quite some time. Haha...
The first day was really tiring as we had to tour around the campus despite being very tired after the flight. Then we brought some groceries, then came to finishing up on unpacking and cleaning our rooms, I'm sharing my room with huiyi=) We couldn't get the triple room, buy Xiling is staying in the room just opposite us and that's fine. Hee.... Soon, I was knocked out(zzz) after we had instant noodles...
Second day: Touring parts of Hong Kong Island.
Dim Sum in School before we left for the tour.
Repulse Bay

(1/2 hr... time only to take photos)

Stanley market is somewhere left of these landmarks, however the view here is really beautiful.
Victoria Peak during the late afternoon. the galleria overlooks the city, but I bet the view at night would be spectacular. After the tour, we had dinner at a seafood resturant. However, the food at the restaurant is not exactly all seafood. Lol, we didn't have lobsters. =(

Oh ya, my camera battery went dead on me just after the tour, and before the dinner. The restaurant has golden spoons on their table and wine glasses for drinking erm, soft drinks or chinese tea? Anyway, the food here is really oily. The waitress is also quite impatient to serve us, sometimes we felt that we were rushing through our meals, but that's the way the culture works, so just eat the food happily bah. Oh well, going to go to Kowloon tomorrow... Blog some other days bah, I'm going to sleep le.
=)

I'm flying off tomorrow!!

Didn't sleep well last night. Hmm, somehow feel a bit
irritated now. Not sure why. Anyway, my room is still darn messy and I'm too lazy to clear it right now. I'm just wondering whether I can fit my whole house into the suitcase. Maybe my suitcase is too small, just hope I can fit my slippers and Mary-Janes into the suitcase. Maybe I need to get more supplies. The very sian thing is that my monthly thing is late. Why so sianz? Because I gotta pack more pads into my bag, maybe I'll just make do with the whole pack. Lol, maybe I should consume some contraceptives to prevent the hormones from triggering my blood lining from dropping, then I don't have to pack any of them at all. Sigh* Just hope that it's coming on monday instead of tomorrow. Why the hell am I blogging about periods here. Weird =_="
Come t0 think of it, I really wanna bring my
whole kitchen to HK! Sai Pong told me that the food costs does not differ much from that in Singapore. So it means: expensive to eat out lah. Well, hopefully can buy nice nice food. Maxim is not cheap also, I've heard. Wow, I may really have to go pluck flowers and eat grass... I wonder if the campus has an orchard. Muahahaha~
Let's see... I'm also going to
Macau and Shenzhen if time allows. Lol, the school has organized a trip for us to HK island and that includes stanley market, the peak and repulse bay. Wow... hopefully I can go to Mdm Tussad's and take picture with
Bae Yong Jun! =) All smiles, then can show mama... Mama going to be so jealous. =P
Well, might as well take with japanese stars also. Heh~~
Adaptation in HK, should be easy because of the summer season, so it would be about the same temperature here. Unlike New Zealand, where I was so freezed. It was about 7-8 degrees at night. First time under such a cold climate then.
Well, I intend to continue packing extra stuff. Haha~~~
I'm going to miss my dear~ Think he's very sad that I weren't home last night. Oopz... Today must go meet him le.
Hee~
Why the hell am I up so late?
I'm still thinking of where to go and what have I missed out from my packing. Sigh* Not sure why I am a bit reluctant to leave my house.
Godiva members meet for makan in Chinatown

Stingray & tang yuan @ the Gourmet st ...the stingray is really Yummy!

2 more days before I fly.

Counting down! Hmm, I just realized that my msn messenger nick put it as 4 days.. haha changing it now..
Ok. Back to blogging. Well, I don't really know how many people is reading my blog, but most are friends, I think. Hee... What's all the fuss about bloggers these days? If you have been watching tv lately, you would see people discussing about the pros and cons of blogging. Then they mentioned censorship on blogging.. Haha... If there were censorship, people would just put like F***, S***, go to h***. Lol...
Anyway, today is a great day for me to watch korean drama, and after watching the vcd, I went for sake sushi buffet with my darling. Last week I just went there also. Hah, now my dear is preventing me from eating too much at the buffet, for fe
ar that I would puke on him. Lol, but both our sentiments are: After the buffet, we went JP and saw the sushi outside fiesta and both began to think of puking. Lol... we ate about 1/2 to 3/4 of what we would usually eat at the buffet. Thoughts? Don't make your stomach sick just because it is a buffet. Haha, this time it wasn't that bad. Can you imagine that I even forgo my favourite mochi ice cream? I'm on a diet!! OMG! Anyway, this picture is blurry coz my hands are shaky as I nearly choke on wasabi while eating sushi and taking this photo.Anyway, I read about xiaxue's blog, she went to US Disneyland.. that lucky lass.. Well, I'm going to Hong Kong Disneyland.. Haha... someday this month. Lol... Well, I
think Xueling even more lucky. She went to both Tokyo Disneyland and US Disneyland, if I didn't remember wrongly. Hi fellow mice, I'm coming!(*runs and graps a home-made mickey-ears hat, to put it on, just to find that it is too small for my head.) Haha, I'm not that sick. Anyway, Do you know which type of bag I bought? It's this one!!! The front one, not the black suitcase which I'll be bringing alon
g with me to HK. I was thinking whether I should bring this bag to Hk. Think it's really AA. Well, judging from the length, you know that it can contain quite a lot of stuff. So far I can squeeze my nalgene bottle, my digicam, my mp3player, my wallet, my hp, my planner, an umbrella, a thick hard covered book( about A5, I think), and a travel guide inside. so many things right? Lol, it's colours differ abit under different lighting. Well... I love this bag so much, I've been carrying on outings this week.Well, some of you may find this bag quite...erm auntie? Or maybe old? Haha, what the heck. It's time to reduce acting cute time. There's something wrong with my blog template. Please bear with the words if they should appear as black against black background.
4-5 days before I fly away~~`
Sunday, June 11, 2006
Can I sing F.I.R's flywaway? As you can see, I can blog many times when I'm jobless. Not that I'm so free, guess I'm addicted to blogging. Sigh, why don't I a laptop. Shoot.... Heard from my friend that the computers there are very old. ALso, she told me that we have to get our own toilet papers. OMG!!!!! OK, shit less? Haha.... Think xiling going to pengz after we tell her. Anyway, I've got my necessities bought and mostly packed except for the toothpaste and toothbrush. I still need to brush teeth, you know. Inner wear ar, haven't pack, later going to pack. Hee, think I'm like bringing alot of things there le. I hope I'm not going to exceed the weight limit when I return~ Ok, it's raining. Heard that HK is also having rainy weathers recently. Heard from my bf's mum that shenzhen shoes are very cheap. Well, I would agree. Think I'll look out for mary-janes and sports shoes... Slippers? Hmm... See how bah.
Anyway, I just sort of edited this post. Seems like I got many friends going overseas and stuff. Hee... Feel happy in the sense that I am growing independent! But still, I need to look after my finances. I wonder how people can invest in funds and stuff. Well, I am growing up right? As a 22 year-old, I should know how to take care of others. Sometimes it seems that I am afraid to grow up. Weird weird. Sometimes, when I see my darling driving the car, I'm like, wow, we can apply for driving license already. Time really flies. Haha, me and my darling have been together for many years already, eversince we were quite young. Hmmm, 14yrs old? Thinking back of many fond memories. Well, now he's getting lazy to go out sometimes. Well, me too. Singapore is just so small, we even hung out at tampines mall yesterday. On other days, I think it's mostly at jurong point. Haha~ But the point is, wherever you are, it is unimportant. It is the company that you are with. Imagine you are hanging out with a bunch of friends, but you are the only one that is excited. Lame right? Hah, hope this doesn't happen.
An eventful day?
Guess what? I did buy the bag that I've wanted!!! But I didn't go get the ice crea, though. =P We ended up going to tampines where we walked around tampines mall and century square. Got a nice scrungy there.Hee~ I wondered why I suggested to go there. Maybe it's because he has to go receive his mother from the airport, I guess. =P His mum very cute, abit like my mum, except that my mum burps in public. =P
Haa, burping in public, my mum's very loud in that. Oopz.... Shouldn't have said that out.
Anywayz, there are isetan in tampines mall and metro in century square. However, I do not have the slightest interest to look at the products that they were carrying. After walking around the place, we headed for changi ariport. Nothing much to do there except tuck into volcano ramen at ajisen! Then we waited at the arrival hall. After fetching his mum home, we watched the world cup game between England and Paraguay, at his house. Wah, house warming, his sister's friends came over to watch also. Lol, Paraguay headed a goal into their own net. Kelong!!! Then with one-nil, England won. Dumb.
11.45pm: watching Silent Hill. The show is just-ok only. I wonder why they have slow dialogues. Also, I just don't get the ending. Seems like it's going to have a sequel, but I don't think so. If you watch it, I guess you would be confused.
So if you are watching the show, please do not read on, as I am going to summarize the story.Story: Adopted daughter sleeps walks and nearly jumped into a waterfall. Mother brings her to silent hill to regain her memory of the place. Silent hill is a restricted area. Accident happens as the idiotic mother sped away from the helpful and cool policewoman. Next morning, daughter goes missing. Mother searches for her and encounters weird organisms. Ewww.... But what did she do? Scream and scream... Anyway, the whole show, that mother(female lead) only knows how to cry and scream lah. Frankly speaking, I find her character abit dumb thought brave. Maybe it's because this film is based on a game, like resident evil, except that resident evil has more typical butt-kicking actions. Anyway, the cause of the problem was a little girl. In the 1970s, the community in silent hill burned a fatherless, innocent little girl( who looked exactly like the female lead's daughter) in a ritual as they believed that it would purify her. The girl was hated in school as her mother refused to divulge who her father was. Furthermore, I think she was either raped or molested or tortured by the school janitor. Then came the eventful day of the burning, where the girl suffered severe high degree burns. Her body was charred... Then came the death-god who made a deal with her, for her to exact revenge. Silent hill burned soon after she cursed it, taking along with it, its residents. Now these dead residents exist in another world. In this world, there are two times. One is safe for all, however when the siren sounds , the dangerous night came soon after. Monsters surfaced to destroy anything in its path, walls became blood stained and paint fell from every surface. When dawn breaks, the monsters disappear into ashes and the structures of the buildings became normal again. For thirty years, these residents stayed in that weird, heinous world, denying the fact that they are already dead. Well, the female lead eventually lead to the demise of the residents as the little girl, who grew up, (they do age in that world) exacted her final revenge. As for the ending part, the female lead saved her daughter. It seems that her daughter was the good side of that little girl, and was sent to the real world for safety from the condemned residents, while another evil girl that was present, was the evil side of that little girl( sort of like the death god merged with her). The ending part was still a daze. First of all, I suspected that the evil little girl part merged with the daughter and that the female lead was already dead in the first place. She didn't get to go back to the real world. The ending's quite sad. Her husband was sleeping on the couch in their home, in the real world, and she was just next to him, but they couldn't see each other, as they were in different worlds.Another movie to watch on a weekday? Well, since it was a sneek preview, I guess it's quite ok. The little girl is really very cute. There are some scenes that are quite comical lah, not supposed to be funny but it looks funny. How about the omen? Well, if you want to know, everyone dies. I've watched the old version( not sure whether it is 1970s or 1980s film) before. There may be even more effects in the new one though.Slither? It's a dumb show, I don't have to watch the movie to know that. Coming up is the lame scary movie 4. It should be funny. Entertaining, though they may use sexual references( not as crappy as date movie, I hope)
Lamentation...

Besides the
stupid agency, I also wanna complain about some people. Some people are just
hypocrites. They may seem all smily behind you, but then they are just pretenders. I've spotted some of them. Yup, but I am not going to reveal them yet. They will soon reveal their true colours. Idiots are all around the place. Do you get what I mean?
Stupid idiots...
Later have to go change money, go suntec makan and also go down to punggol, nvm, this time I shall get the super chio, sassy bag that I want, at the punggol stall!!!!!! Better not be sold out and not out of budget. Haven't ask for the price yet. If below 30 bucks, then I'm all for it!
Hong Kong Trip in
5 days... hmmm...Let's see, 5 days. Out of which I would spend a few days on reading and the day before the trip, packing!
Maybe I'll also spend time with my dear before the trip.
Sigh, so near yet so far.....
Warning: Do not come near me when I am Angry, I might just eat you up. You do not want to mess with me when I am mad, that is for certain. Don't see me smile all day like an idiot, I can throw a really very huge tantrum like a giant meteor of fire.
This time I'm really pissed
See ar, last time I told you of of that lousy agency right? Stupid thing is hor, waste my postage stamp! She never help me get the company stamp and client signature and expect me to go get it. Idiotic. Why I send her the forms back just to fill in her name and the client's name only ar? Why she cannot fill in le then send to me. Sianz, then how? I go punggol meh, also never say anything much? Idiots. Think I'll never go to that agency ever again. Idiotic system and idiots working there who expect the other party to give out time sheets when they don't at all. Super irritated.
Baby names
Friday, June 09, 2006
Though it's still early.. haha I'm very bored, so now, I shall search for baby names!
What I might name my son:Gabriel ( hero of God)Alphonse( Eager, noble)<-- German nameChristopher or just chris ( christ bearer)cole(Warrior)Constantine ( firm, constant)Dakota( just an native american tribal name)Daniel( the champion)Eliot( the lord is my god)Eric ( honorable ruler)Frederick ( Peaceful ruler)Gene( born to nobility)
Haru( if he is born during spring time)<--- japanese nameJamie or JaymeJoelOrlando( Land of gold)PrinceRaphael( GOd has healed)Reece( Stream)Sean( God is gracious)Sebastien ( venerable)Seth( appointed)Shannon(little wise owl)SkyeSolarisJustice or justinWhat I might name my daughter:Gabrielle ( Hero of God)Halle ( Heroine)Hailey(Hero)Felicia or Felicity(Happiness)Carol or melody or carrie ( Melody, song)Ceridwen( beautiful daughter)Charrisa( grace)Charleen( female version of charles>?)Charlize(womanly)Charlotte(feminine)Cherie(Beloved)Chole(verdant and blooming)cordelia( daughter of the sea)Daphne( laurel tree)ElizaErica or Erika( honorable ruler)HazelJamiePhoenixSerendipity( fateful meeting)Serenity( Peaceful disposition)snowsummerI particularly like those names in green and in yellow. Well, there are so many names to choose from!!! Athena has already been booked by me!!! Think I most likely name my daughter athena. Hehe.... But I also really like chole and gabrielle. Most important thing is: the kid must be able to write her name... haha~ sounds as if I want baby girls only right? No lah, One boy and one girl is enough for me. sometimes people give their kids more than one english name. Hmm, I think the maximum they can go, is like 3? Otherwise, wow! How they fit onto the Identification Card?Reece, gene and justin are nice and easy to write also.. So one possible name is: Athena Gabrielle and then for boy, it's quite hard to put the names such that they sound nice. Hee... Let's see: Reece Constantine, Justin Alphonse, Skye Alphonse, Gene Alphonse? Or even longer: Gene Skye Reece Comstantine. Haha!!!No lah, guess I would settle for Reece constantine for a baby boy.=)

As you have guessed, if you have nothing better to do at home, you would most probably turn to your remote control and push the correct buttons. I watched an extremely creepy thriller on channel 5 today. It's named" Anatomy"( hah, my sis is doing anatomy in new zealand). The show's quite creepy in the sense that the research institute of a well-known school had resorted to drugging and then murdering their helpless victims for the sake of advances in medical sciences. It's like so digusting to watch a guy who is still alive, having to witness the "surgeons" cutting his intestines out, after which he fainted and died. Ewww... orginally the victims were terminal patients. However, a pyschotic member of that society resorted to murder his ex-girl friend and her lover. So digusting.... he plasticized the poor girl into what you all know as a sculpture of the human body( still remember the human body exhibition?). The girl had half of her body skin removed to reveal her muscles and tendons. Though it's pretty, it's totally not ethical to just murder someone just to hold on to her beauty forever. Even worse, in order to hide the identity of the lover, the pyscho removed his head. Double eww..... so horrible. However, the female lead gets to fight back in the end, to end the horrible killings. No, the female lead is not like Angelina Jolin in tomb raider, but she is actually a medical student there, and I really like her character. Hee, though she's not busty, I think the handsome( so cute) male lead still loved her guts. A particular funny dialogue from him was:" Do dead guys turn you on more than live ones do?" Very corny.
Moral of the story: Please do not go to the toilet alone and please stay in a group lest such pyschos drag you somewhere to perform autopsies on you while you are drugged but still alive. But in the real world, normally they just take your kidney and leave you in a bathtub of ice and throw the phone at you to call 911. Ewww.... More Tv watching...
Oprah winfrey show is really getting my attention. I find it suitable for everyone, regardless of age, though the Live Tv audiences are mostly females.. Hah~ There's so much to learn from the show, like house deco, and I really like the episode on Lance Armstrong and how he fought cancer to emerge as a six-times(i think) champion of the tour-de-france bicycle racing championship. It's quite tedious actually, the tour-de-france is considered as the toughest. He's got really a lovely mother( and really pretty also) and his girlfriend is the famous rocker, Sheryl Crow. Not sure if they are still together as the show is like last year but telecasted in Sg this year. Wow.... What I liked best was her christmas special, where volunteers in the Hurricane Katrina rescue aid were repaid for their kindness, with gifts like burberry's, ipod video, mobile phones and so many other gifts! Really, it was kinda cool watching them jump around and hug each other when they heard that they are getting sony laptops, really..... well, some of these people came from other states that were not affected by the hurricane, and they came to help the victims. They sacrificed their comfortable living conditions, some sacrificed their sleep to help in the medical aid of the patients and others initiated and helped with the gathering of food donations to the victims.Another episode which touched me greatly was the episode where 2 priests who went on a mission to Africa, found 7 american chidren in the African Orphange where they headed to. It was really touching. You see, the foster mother of these children had left them with a relative in Africa and the relative later sent them to the orphange as he had no means of providing for them. These kids have to endure the harsh living conditions in the orphanage and they had no identification with them. Thus, it was hard to bring them back to America immediately. One of the priests left them a one dollar US bill saying " Wait for me and I'll exchange that one dollar bill with a 100dollar bill." All the children could do was cry and sing the US national athem as he left. Hope came and they were brought back to America. Wow. Very touching. That's why people are looked onto the Oprah show.
Jobless again but 7 more days to HK trip!
Today, I have started to pack my bag for the trip. But suddenly I feel that I am going to miss my messy room and my folks at home. I will miss my dear also, but, fear not, this is part of growing up and independence. If I can survive the trip, I would feel better!
Yesterday was sort of like farewell lunch and dinner for me. First, it was with Xueling and Yee ting at pizzahut and next, with Sai pong and Qing yue at sakae Sushi. Hahaz, both of which I had free meals! But, I am sure, one day I would treat them back lah. Hee... Ate until so full at pizza hut... then ate yummy stuff at sake also, but the shitake tempura, it's tasteless though very soft. =P I'm still loving the spicy drumlets, the salmon sushi and the sukiyaki chicken. Haha~
Qing yue shared about her experience at the CUHK last year, also as an exchange student. The school would take us on cultural trips but usually on saturdays. Her hall had burst-water-pipes and she couldn't bathe in a few days. Also, she stated that the japanese food there are not very nice, but the dim sum sure is.( Of course dim sum is must eat!) Although the clothes are cheap, money would still be sucked into the food section. "The food there is really expensive." She said. Then Saipong started to ask me whether I know how to speak cantonese, using cantonese. And as usual, he started his nonsense again. He spoke cantonese then Qingyue translated it into chinese, but soon after we ignored him. We girls talked and talked, then he kept quiet. Haha~ Very funny... coz he's off frequency then. Still, he came up with the Da Chang Jin nonsense. He kept playing with the sukiyaki pot and said:" Are these meant for the emperor's consumption?" and " This meal can cure heatiness blah blah blah" ( in chinese) Laughter, laughter....
Jobless me. I'm not going to stay just at home to watch the Korean Drama" Love is all around" starring Zhang Na Ra, I think I'm going out for the next few days also. Friday's supposed to go out with the Godiva Gang, and sat, go to our council president's house( watch world cup? I dunno leh) and sun, go to church. Next monday meet friend to take stuff, then maybe watch movie with sp and qy. Next tues, wed, thurs free(hopefully, i dun feel much like going out(but still the dinosaur exhibition is still an incomplete agenda)... and off I am on FRIDAY MORNING!!!!!
Speaking of church, it seems that the people wants me to get into contact with the saints in hong kong as well. Although they stated that no obligations are required, I feel quite stressed to actually meet the saints in Hong Kong. But it would be quite mafan leh.... hee... dunno lah. If I meet them, I would not know what to tell them. Sort of scared to answer their questions. I'm not really a holy person, you know? So, there's some part of the church life which I would not know of. The saints over here wants to give me a farewell dinner also. Why so many farewell dinners? Gosh...
Sidetracking, I actually stayed at the library to read some decent books! First off, there was this book by charles dickens et al, " A house to let". It's quite interesting. I actually read about 2-3 books in the library, don't ask why. Haha~ Maybe I'll stay at home to read books on the few days before my flight.
Results are out~

Well, this time round I passed with straights Bs except for pyschology that gave me only a C+ but... the main point is, I have hope to complete my minor as well as hope to ascend(not really sure that it is maintaining or ascending) to second lower class honours!!!
I though I would have failed cancer Biology, but I didn't!!! So happy!!!!!
Ok, that's all from me. I have to go and work now. =)
First day of work at the PC fair
Friday, June 02, 2006
Pop over to suntec city now. They've got some real bargains over there. So don't miss it! Also shun bian take many flyers and paper bags from me and Xiling hor! Speaking of which, the darn paper cuts on my arm and my hands are making me uncomfortable. OMG~We gave out so many flyers inside the hall~ So many people at the fair even on this weekday!!!
Hah~ A good thing was that carefour had a 'buy one get one free' promotion for sushi after 9pm! Xiling and I went over there and bought the delicious sushi, though not very fresh. I thought I was still ok but when I got home and sat in my comfortable chair, arh~ Felt so lazy to get off it!!!! Luckily I still managed to pull myself to go and bathe, otherwise I'll be really stinky!!! Well, though this job does not earn much, I think it's quite good to exercise the muscles.. Haha~ And yes, there are girls in skimpy oufits, Yanling, but we're not the ones in it though! Quite a few lah.... gasp! And some are really very thin.oO
So, if guys wanna go drool over girls, visit the samsung booth. Haha...
