5 more days to freedom
Sunday, April 29, 2007

Yes, 5 more days and whe poster day is over. TOtal freedom reigns!!! Well, at least I have freedom until I start work? Heh... Anyway, I've just finished my poster draft. Not sure whether I can print it tommorrow, but hopefully I can do so. =P

When I was doing my poster I found many mistakes in my thesis and I was like so sad. *sobz*
Sigh, hopefully the poster can save my marks.

Thoughts and thoughts...
Thursday, April 26, 2007

Hi all! I was studying psychology and I came across this interesting community in Pennsylvania. This community dresses plainly and find modern technology unacceptable. Well, they really remind me of "The Village characters". But what I found out something on the internet which was really sad, because some members of the community took advantage of their "higher" authoritarian roles and abused children both physically or mentally. Although this has raised some concern, it seems that the community is keeping them underwraps and does not seem to intend to persecute their own members in court. I guess this is an in-group bias thing. They persecute others who violate their own but not their members who violate their own. Strange isn't is? That justice is not served, and the saddest thing of all is to follow the religion blindly, and the fact that many do not question the authority in the religion.

People who blindly follow others must one day realize that they should reconsider the path which they should take. Fearing the authorities is what stopped people from listening to their conscience. Whether it should be war or terrorism, much should be put into consideration before any destructive force is unleashed. Are wars fought for justice or power? Is terrorism an act of revenge? I guess God has his way of maintaining the population quota. Having plagues and wars going on may not be his intention, but I guess such disasters occur so as to strike a balance between our resources and our existence. Imagine that our population is evergrowing without check. Maybe cannabalism may set in soon after desperation for food sets in. Well, who knows?

To be happier
Tuesday, April 24, 2007

To be happy, you must have good relationships with your family and friends, or engage in hobbies. Romance is also not a bad thing. You must also have a meaning in life, like religion, philosophy and spirituality. Finally, you must have goal in your life and be happy working towards this goal in life. This is what I've learnt in pyschology class, and I hope everyone finds it helpful.

I think most importantly, you have to be optimistic in life. For me, I can be extremes on both optimism and pessimism.

So what have I acheived in life?
1) I have a couple of excellent friends.
2) I have many good friends
3) I am close to my sisters, I think. Heh, but not that close to Dad, for some reasons.
4) I love my Mum, but I know that I am kinda rude to her sometimes la. =P
5) I love to hate my brother, but since he's such a dear nowadays, I sort of changed my attitude towards him.. Where's my Milo bro?
6) I have a bf who dotes on me
7) Hobbies include watching anime and drama series?
8) Meaning in life. This one is kinda hard..... spirituality? Hmmm, I can't say that I am a devotee in Christianity. Philosophy in life: Contentment is bliss.
9) Goals in life? I want to open a cafe or start a business!!!

These may all change, I guess. When you change with age, you will change your thoughts.

My only problems now are:
1) My degree class
2) Not enough money to spend
3) Not enough money to buy a house
4) Not being able to concentrate on studies, which is too late now la...
So I guess I need to find a part time job somehow before I start my actual work.... *Sigh*

Beep beep! Stop!
Monday, April 16, 2007

Well, it's quite a nuisance when people invite you to join their "Facebook", "Where are you now" and other websites that are friendster-like. I mean, there are really too many of these types of webbies and I can't seem to remember which ones I have joined for they are just too many and I am just one spartan.

Can't we just add each other on msn or something and just link each other to our blogs or msnspaces? This is getting all too messy. Sheesh!

I can't seem to remember the last time that I was on Friendster. It lags during certain times and I hate all the waiting. Also, I would rather read my friend's blog or call/sms them personally if I want to find out how they are getting on. People don't necessarily update their friendster all the time. The internet is really too big for me. I blog. I msn. I seldom deliberately find silly links and videos to email my friends. I just forward them. If I have so much time on hand to do all these things, I think I'm really a internet junkie. I fear becoming too reliant on this double-edged sword technology. It's so frightening to live without technology.

I *heart* my laptop and I totally dig my hp, both of which are sort of like presents from my darling, except that I would be paying for the laptop's remaining installments. Boys can't live without their gadgets too, I suppose. I can't imagine my darling not bringing his psp and hp to work. Somehow, guys like to update their gadgets. I know of a couple of dudes who like to do that. Luckily, I am not the type who is after the latest model of gadgets b'coz I would still use my trusty Nokia 7610 if it hadn't died on me. I buy new models of hp when my old models die on me. So my hp has progressed from being a ericsson da ge da ( bulky hp), to Nokia 3310 (which was lost), to Nokia 8250 (which is confirmed dead coz I tried to use it recently), to Nokia 6610 (died on me when I flew to NZ) to Nokia 7610 (which had problems surfacing when I went to HK), to DisneyMobile900 ( temporary replacement for Nokia 7610) and now I possess the Nokia E65, which is not something that I thirst for coz it's pricey. But heck, I still got it after my darling persuaded me to buy a 3G hp and insisted that I get this one.
AND I really *heart* it now.
So I personally rank it as my all-time favourite and my Nokia 7610 is second in place, it's like kinda like the lover that died on you and you cry over it. I will remember it always. *Salutes Nokia 7610*
Third in place would be my nokia 8250 coz it's so compact and cool.
Don't all these sort of relate to the types of guys?
The Nokia E65 is like a husband, coz it's multifunctional. Hahahaha
The Nokia 7610 is like the true love that you didn't marry.... and
The Nokia 8250 is like a fling. Erm wait, think this part is a little unsuitable.
*Pauses and thinks*
Well, phones don't last as long as relationships, and your true love may be your husband. I am not encouraging flings, but crushes are allowed I guess. To have a crush on somebody is a healthy thing but don't step overboard and plunge into a sea of turmoil later on! Hahaha~

But seriously lah, it's a matter of following your heart vs following your stomach. My thinking has matured somewhat and I don't think following your heart is always the best option coz feelings may die down even though it's as passionate as a fire in the beginning. So why not opt for someone that can support you ( both emotionally and financially) and love you more than you love him? All the crap about being able to support oneself is abit too idealistic to me. For me, I guess I'll feel better to be dependent rather than independent. I would still be working coz this society forces us to work our butts off for materialism. I need to find something to do to prevent me from getting to the stage of branded-goods hunting. As you grow older, life gets complicated. When you are old, your health gets complicated. So is it better to die young than old? All these questions are thoughts that may have occurred to you, and maybe you haven't found the correct answers yet. Sometimes I find certain people pathetic even though they have been successful. But who am I to judge. Well, life is what you make out of it. Your life is in your hands, control it. Sometimes it's kinda stupid when you blame on somethings that are really within your control.

Just a little exercise here.
I mock myself for being indifferent to others.
I mock myself for being irresponsible.
I mock myself for looking down on others.
I mock myself for being rude to my loved ones.
I mock at my temper.
I mock at my fickleness
I mock at my kindness
I mock at materialism
I mock at terrorism
I mock myself in taking things too seriously when it comes to friends
I mock at everyone and everything.
* STOP WAR, GAIN PEACE *
So do you have something to mock at? Just start your own mock excercise * PUN intended*

If you don't understand the pun, check the dictionary for mock.

I told you so~
Saturday, April 14, 2007

There are certain times when you shouldn't tell your friends the truth about something. I mean, so far, everytime I knew something was not going to turn out right and advise someone against something, that someone would just ignore my advice and just go ahead with it. So I have come to a conclusion: NEver be a nosey parker. Sometimes it's better to keep my trap shut. I wouldn't really wanna say " I told you so". It's just so inappropriate.

Next, I think I should just let people handle their own affairs instead of getting myself involved. Darn, I hate this. Wait, what's the difference between this clause and the one above?

So it's just: wash my hands off matters. Maybe I should just listen.

By the way, I went to Tiong Bahru Plaza ydae with Xue, shopping around. Then we stepped into this boutique. If you are interested to know which boutique, just ask me la. But here I would tell you what happened. These people do not really know about proper service at all! First they push clothes to you which do not suit your body shape and style and this really gets me infuriated. I hate the fact that the salesgirl keep giving me other clothes over the door when I ONLY WANT TO TRY OUT A CERTAIN DESIGN. Next, when I decided to buy a certain piece, their so called "friendly service" stops. I wasn't asked to check the clothing that I was about to buy and the salesgirl immediately packed the clothes and asked for payment. This isn't the type of service I expect. I am not buying a plain Tee shirt here, mind you. I expect the embroidery work on the clothes to be fine and I should be given a right to check the worksmanship! I have to actually get the clothes out of the plastic shopping bag and check the piece just to find something wrong with the clothes.. And the next piece I got had threads that was supposed to be cut off, and I had to actually grab the scissors on the counter and cut them off myself. This is really stupid!

Ok, girls. One more thing, if you are going to buy a certain clothing from boutiques, make sure that the brand label is stitched properly. I bought a pair of shorts and the label just fell after one wash, which means that the boutique got the goods from elsewhere and got people to sew on replacement brand labels. If you are buying from high-end boutiques, I guess this is not much of a problem. Labels may seem nothing to you but to me, if the labels are sew on improperly or due to poor craftsmanship, I would feel that the boutique has no heart put into the quality of the clothes. Well, I guess I am getting too picky. But face it, go to bugis street and look at the clothes on display. I see threads not properly trimmed from the clothes and it's a real turn off. MAn, put some work into this if you want people to buy from you.

That said enough, I should get back to my mugging for pyschology.
*TURNING PYSCHOTIC HERE*
Hopefully I don't turn into a big snob in future. I really hate snobs and I really detest becoming one. This sucks.
Hope my supplementary card comes... *crosses fingers*

Bummer!
Tuesday, April 10, 2007

Well, this is a trend! I'm always blogging when I'm near deadlines and exams. Hah, sheesh! You all must find me to be a complain queen? Now, I'm quite freaked out. Why? Someone is screaming around the neighbourhood and I'm not sure whether that's someone on the TV, or some real person screaming. *Sweatz*

Now, where was I? I think I'm beginning to suffer from bipolar disorder. I can be very happy one minute and very sad the next. But I guess that's when I'm under stress? Siao liao.. I'm turning into one heck of a lunatic.

Anyone watching "the reaping"? Just tell me whether it's worth watching.

Ok, have to turn in early and rush my thesis tmr!!!

Cya!

What the hell?

Alamak, Xiaxue has resorted to complaining about the designs on the tissue boxes. Erm... her blog getting more and more bo liao liao. When I read her entry, I was like... this topic is like so weird, suddenly pop up in her blog and kinda misfit? I wonder.... is her blog losing its charms? Or has she nothing better to say at all? Tissue boxes come in different designs, you have the right to choose the design, so why complain?

Haha, should go and hunt other people's blog to read liao.... Maybe should read Rozz's blog instead. Yea, that's all for now, and HAPPY BDAE TO SHARON TODAY!!!!!!
