Whole day of TV as well
Thursday, June 08, 2006

As you have guessed, if you have nothing better to do at home, you would most probably turn to your remote control and push the correct buttons. I watched an extremely creepy thriller on channel 5 today. It's named" Anatomy"( hah, my sis is doing anatomy in new zealand). The show's quite creepy in the sense that the research institute of a well-known school had resorted to drugging and then murdering their helpless victims for the sake of advances in medical sciences. It's like so digusting to watch a guy who is still alive, having to witness the "surgeons" cutting his intestines out, after which he fainted and died. Ewww... orginally the victims were terminal patients. However, a pyschotic member of that society resorted to murder his ex-girl friend and her lover. So digusting.... he plasticized the poor girl into what you all know as a sculpture of the human body( still remember the human body exhibition?). The girl had half of her body skin removed to reveal her muscles and tendons. Though it's pretty, it's totally not ethical to just murder someone just to hold on to her beauty forever. Even worse, in order to hide the identity of the lover, the pyscho removed his head. Double eww..... so horrible. However, the female lead gets to fight back in the end, to end the horrible killings. No, the female lead is not like Angelina Jolin in tomb raider, but she is actually a medical student there, and I really like her character. Hee, though she's not busty, I think the handsome( so cute) male lead still loved her guts. A particular funny dialogue from him was:" Do dead guys turn you on more than live ones do?" Very corny.
Moral of the story: Please do not go to the toilet alone and please stay in a group lest such pyschos drag you somewhere to perform autopsies on you while you are drugged but still alive. But in the real world, normally they just take your kidney and leave you in a bathtub of ice and throw the phone at you to call 911. Ewww.... More Tv watching...
Oprah winfrey show is really getting my attention. I find it suitable for everyone, regardless of age, though the Live Tv audiences are mostly females.. Hah~ There's so much to learn from the show, like house deco, and I really like the episode on Lance Armstrong and how he fought cancer to emerge as a six-times(i think) champion of the tour-de-france bicycle racing championship. It's quite tedious actually, the tour-de-france is considered as the toughest. He's got really a lovely mother( and really pretty also) and his girlfriend is the famous rocker, Sheryl Crow. Not sure if they are still together as the show is like last year but telecasted in Sg this year. Wow.... What I liked best was her christmas special, where volunteers in the Hurricane Katrina rescue aid were repaid for their kindness, with gifts like burberry's, ipod video, mobile phones and so many other gifts! Really, it was kinda cool watching them jump around and hug each other when they heard that they are getting sony laptops, really..... well, some of these people came from other states that were not affected by the hurricane, and they came to help the victims. They sacrificed their comfortable living conditions, some sacrificed their sleep to help in the medical aid of the patients and others initiated and helped with the gathering of food donations to the victims.
Another episode which touched me greatly was the episode where 2 priests who went on a mission to Africa, found 7 american chidren in the African Orphange where they headed to. It was really touching. You see, the foster mother of these children had left them with a relative in Africa and the relative later sent them to the orphange as he had no means of providing for them. These kids have to endure the harsh living conditions in the orphanage and they had no identification with them. Thus, it was hard to bring them back to America immediately. One of the priests left them a one dollar US bill saying " Wait for me and I'll exchange that one dollar bill with a 100dollar bill." All the children could do was cry and sing the US national athem as he left. Hope came and they were brought back to America. Wow. Very touching.
That's why people are looked onto the Oprah show.
