Irony

Here I am, slurping my noodles from its tom yam soup, thinking about the delicious seafood linguine I had at Modesto's. Yummy! My instant noodles has pathetic little shrimps and crabmeat as garnish whereas the pasta I had yesterday was complemented by prawns, mussels, clams, squid and half a crab. Can you see the contrast here? The linguine was donned with diced tomato sauce and did I tell you about the cream of mushroom that I had before the pasta ? The rich flavour of the mushrooms whipped up my appetite and made me ready for the pasta.

After dinner, Ting and I walked around the shops in Vivocity. I was tempted to buy something from Page One, but the scrooge in me said, "Wait up, smartass. You still have 3 books at home waiting for you to finish up. And one is still in plastic wrap!!!" I was tempted to use a sling-shot against the scrooge; however, it triumphed. =_="

We moved on to Tangs and Ting bought a coffee maker. "It's so lame," Ting commented " a coffee maker to sieve the tea leaves or floral buds?" This so-called coffee maker consists of a flask that has a sieve inside it. All you need to do to make coffee is to pump the handle of the sieve up and down to achieve the mixing effect. Well... coffee maker.

Next, we moved onto Couduroy cafe and shared a piece of tantalizing strawberry chessecake. We wanted to have one each, but the gigantic portions of pasta filled most of our stomachs, leaving us little room to accomodate even the small cake. I like the ambience of this cafe. There's newspapers and "National Geographic". I flipped through the "Herald Tribune", "The Straits Times" as well as "National Geographic". The cafe is a good place to relax. Its armchairs are so comfortable that we almost fell asleep while holding onto the sushions provided. The music is soothing. The waitresses are attentive, though I think they put on too much eye make up. I made a blooper yesterday. I knocked over Ting's ibook (Mac) and she almost thrashed me. Luckily it was not damaged, or else I would not make it back home. Seriously. Ting, if you are reading this, please don't rush to my house to kill me. Hahaha..FYI She stays very near to my apartment.

Oh well... I was so wasted yesterday. But I only had a cup of bourbon. The culprits must be the work stress and the mealthat made me so drowsy.

Right now, I am contented with my Myojo tom yum noodles.
